Terms of Service
Effective date: October 14, 2026. Last updated October 16, 2026. HalalNook is a product of BriskNest US LLC, a Texas limited liability company (Texas SOS File No. 6000016199), doing business as HalalNook ("HalalNook", "we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and BriskNest US LLC.
1. The website
These terms govern your use of halalnook.com. The HalalNook apps are not yet available; app previews on this site show example data only. By using this site or joining the waitlist you agree to these terms.
2. Waitlist
Joining the waitlist is free and does not create an account or guarantee access by any date. You must give your own email address. You can leave at any time.
3. Halal information
When HalalNook launches, listings will show a halal trust level (Certified, Owner-verified or Community-reported) and, where available, the certifier's name. This information comes from certifiers, business owners and the community. It is provided to help you decide, not as a religious ruling or a guarantee. Always confirm with the business or certifier if you are unsure.
4. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the site, submit false information, try to break or overload it, or use it to send spam.
5. Intellectual property
The HalalNook name, logo and site content belong to BriskNest US LLC. You may not use them without our permission.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, BriskNest US LLC (d/b/a HalalNook) and its members, officers and employees will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to US$50.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas.
9. Matrimonial
9.1 What it is. Matrimonial is a service for Muslims aged 18 or older who are looking for marriage. BriskNest US LLC (d/b/a HalalNook) provides the platform only. We are not a matchmaker, marriage broker or agency, we do not arrange or recommend marriages, and we do not guarantee any match, reply or outcome.
9.2 Eligibility. Religion is fixed to Islam. By creating a profile you confirm you are Muslim (or, if creating as a parent or guardian, that you and the candidate are Muslim), that the candidate is at least 18, and that you are looking for marriage.
9.3 Parent/guardian profiles. A parent or guardian may create and manage a profile for their son or daughter. They must confirm that the candidate knows about the profile and agrees to it, and must share interest and messages with them. The profile is labelled as parent-managed and interest and messages go to the parent account. We remove profiles made without the candidate's consent.
9.4 Verification. To review a profile we ask for a live selfie, a government photo ID and a proof of address. "Verified" means only that our reviewers matched those documents to the profile at the time of review. It reduces but does not remove risk. We do not run criminal, marital-status or background checks and do not confirm the truth of what members write. The documents are deleted after review as described in the Privacy Policy.
9.5 Duplicates. We keep one-way keyed hashes (fingerprints) to detect duplicate or repeat profiles. A possible duplicate is checked by a person and is never rejected automatically. Fingerprints of profiles removed for breaking these terms are kept for 1 year.
9.6 Your responsibility. You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile and for your own conduct online and offline. Do your own due diligence before sharing personal information or meeting anyone. We strongly encourage involving your wali or family, meeting in public, and never sending money to another member.
9.7 Conduct. Zero tolerance for harassment, threats, hate, scams, requests for money, explicit or sexual content, fake or duplicate profiles, impersonation, profiles for minors, profiles made without consent, commercial use, and use for anything other than marriage (including arrangements mainly for immigration).
9.8 Reporting, suspension and termination. You can report or block any member. We may hide, suspend or remove any profile or account, at our discretion and without notice, if we believe it breaks these terms, puts anyone at risk or exposes us to legal risk. We cooperate with valid legal requests and may share information with law enforcement when the law requires it or someone may be at risk of harm.
9.9 Free and paid features. Creating a profile (including verification), browsing and reading profiles are free. Seeing photos, contact and wali details and sending interest or messages require the Matrimonial add-on ($4.99/month or $29.99/year), which is separate from other HalalNook plans and is not yet on sale. When sold, it renews automatically until cancelled; cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. App Store and Google Play purchases are managed and refunded under Apple's or Google's rules; PayPal purchases under PayPal's rules and these terms. The add-on does not affect review, verification or matches.
9.10 No advice. Nothing in Matrimonial is legal, immigration or religious advice. Consult a qualified imam or scholar about religious matters and a lawyer about legal or immigration matters.
9.11 Liability. Section 7 applies to Matrimonial. To the extent the law allows, BriskNest US LLC is not responsible for the conduct of any member, for the accuracy of profiles, or for anything that happens when members communicate or meet.

10. Changes
We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a new date.
